Dr. Andrew Hodges

They are a developmental editor who specializes in cultural anthropology and the creative humanities. They also have expertise in fiction developmental editing, which they apply to ethnographic writing, where appropriate.

Andrew lived and worked in Croatia from 2008 to 2018 as a cultural anthropologist and in Regensburg, Germany from 2018 to 2019. They studied natural sciences at the University of Cambridge then completed a PhD in cultural anthropology at the University of Manchester. Andrew has authored or co-authored monographs published with Routledge, Suhrkamp, and the University of Toronto Press, on topics ranging from queer studies and football fan activism through to shipyard ethnography. Finally, Andrew is an advanced professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
